WHAT WE OFFER
We want to make it easier for people with disability to attend community festivals. Here is how PLATFORM helps.
AN ACCESSIBLE SPACE TO CHILL OUT
PLATFORM is an exciting new accessible chill-out space for people of all ages and abilities. Soft music, slow moving lights, interactive tactile objects, weighted blankets and lots of fluffy cushions make PLATFORM the perfect place to engage the senses or just take some time out.
Throughout the course of an event, PLATFORM will be reserved as a quiet space for festival goers with disability and sensory related needs and their carers.
AN ACCESSIBLE DELUXE BATHROOM
EZY-DUN is a portable accessible deluxe bathroom for all people with disabilities. It comes with a ramp for accessibility, an accessible toilet inside with plenty of room for transfer and turning for wheelchair users, a hoist and a change table for older children or adults with disability so they can attend their needs with dignity.
The whole idea is that there are so many of us in community who need access to a good bathroom so we can hang out but not hang on as long we want to at a festival or event.
The PLATFORM team work with event organisers to find other ways to make events more accessible. Each festival is different and chooses different projects to work with.
SHOWCASING ARTISTS WITH DISABILITY
Our PLATFORM chill out space has been designed by Bliss Cavanagh from Studio Bliss. Bliss Cavanagh is a sensory artist & designer, PhD researcher, and a passionate advocate for mental health.
Along the way we will be engaging over 20 visual artists, performers, and musicians with disability to entertain and challenge festival goers.
